Good post. However, it’s almost like you are splitting hairs here.

You are correct to note that the 1 minute per move can be indeed detrimental to Stockfish. Considering Stockfish may have been designed to play a game with more time flexibility.

It is not about the amount of compute resources expended or whether AZ is actually better than a handcrafted Stockfish. What is important is that with a methodology of massive compute power and minimal a priori knowledge that one can come up with a solution with advanced reasoning capabilities. That is the gist of the achievement. What you are seeking to get addressed is peripheral.
